The facilitators of and barriers to antimicrobial use and misuse in Lalitpur, Nepal: a qualitative study
This study explores the perspectives of patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers on antibiotic prescription adherence and the impact of a training and communication (T&C) intervention. Results show that adherence to antibiotics is influenced by factors such as knowledge, forgetfulness, effective communication, expectations, beliefs, attitudes, and child preferences. The T&C package can help address specific barriers to treatment adherence. The study suggests that tailored interventions can enhance prescription adherence and contribute to the global effort to combat AMR.
